We have a book in process, but we need a home for it. Today, the work begins on building the website for Newcastlewest Books.
Until the website is created, there will be a placeholder at the site, but the fact that we bought our URL feels like we've taken a huge step forward. There are still many options to consider, and a lot of work left to be done before we can fully launch our enterprise.
It seems appropriate to start out during the Easter season with a book that brings the reader from the failed Fenian military rebellion of 1867 to Easter Monday, 1916, when the Irish took up arms yet again to overthrow British rule.
Our first release is an intriguing adventure; the plot twists and turns as the characters engage in the sort of double-dealing and obfuscation that is at the heart of covert military operations.
Indeed, A TERRIBLE BEAUTY is that rare novel that will appeal to both men and women, with a heartbreaking story of a family torn apart by civil war and destructive secrecy.
Look for our announcements soon, and who knows, maybe you'll get a copy for free.
